Welcome to all!! I can’t believe that I am finally doing this…typing up my first blog post! I don’t even know if anyone will read this but that’s ok because I am also writing this as a way of “healing” myself and finding peace with my life. If you have looked at my profile than you already know that I am a thirty-something woman who is a Type 1 Diabetic (Insulin Dependent) who wears a pump and that I lost my mother 10 years ago to pancreatic cancer. These have been life altering events in my world and have formed who I have become, what I have done with my life, choices I’ve made and paths I’ve traveled and yet through all of it, I have only grown stronger as an individual, as a woman, as a sister, and as a daughter. I’m not trying to say that my life or my experiences have been more difficult than other people’s or that I deserve sympathy, I know we all go through our own individual struggles that are relative to our lives and our families, but I am hoping that by sharing my story I can help others who are facing difficult situations find comfort in knowing that the difficult times pass and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel; I am proof of this. Is my life perfect now and everything sunshiny?? Not a chance…I fight daily with diabetes, I HATE pancreatic cancer and the fact that it ripped my mom from my life, I have family drama, and I am trying to get a toe in the door of the career path/industry I want to and have gone to school for but I also have things to be a happy and thankful for…an amazing man, two lovable and funny dogs, friends, family, and a job. All of this will be touched on in one way or another on this blog so if this interests you than be sure to stay tuned…follow me by email or twitter…check back in and leave some comments.
Stay Strong,
Sara
